Now hiring a Procurement Specialist for  Canadian Railway Services in Squamish, BC.   Exciting opportunity to work on high-impact rail and rolling stock projects across North America.  Offering a competitive wage, excellent benefits, and lots of room to grow and learn.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Full-time, year-round.  Based in Squamish, BC
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday.
  • Wage:  $55,000 – $75,000 per year based on experience. *negotiable
  • RRSP or retirement savings plan, subject to eligibility.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, preferably in manufacturing, rail, transportation, or industrial environments.
  • Experience in sourcing steel/metal materials, technical components, fabricated parts, or engineered equipment.
  • Ability to interpret basic technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Proficiency with ERP, procurement, or inventory management systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Source and procure materials, components, equipment, and services in accordance with project and operational requirements.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders aligned with approved budgets, specifications, and internal procedures.
  • Request, analyze, and compare supplier quotations to ensure best value, quality, and lead time.
  • Manage supplier relationships and support supplier selection, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
  • Track order status and proactively follow up with suppliers to mitigate delays or shortages.
  • Resolve procurement issues related to delivery, quality, documentation, or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, project management, and production teams to support evolving requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal controls and quality requirements.
  • Support cost tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement of procurement processes.
