We have two exciting management opportunities for a Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager at a community-focused business in the beautiful and scenic territory of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) just south of Squamish, BC. These positions are ideal for customer-oriented leaders looking to grow their careers, support a dedicated team, and contribute to a business with strong community roots and purpose. Offering up to $35 per hour, a flexible 40-hour work week and other benefits.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

- Flexible full-time schedule to support business operating hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Store Manager is a 6 month contract to start with potential for extensions and a starting salary in the range of $30 to $35 per hour.
- Assistant Store Manager is a long-term, permanent position with a starting salary in the range of $28 to $30 per hour.

The Perfect Candidate:
- 2–5 years of related experience in customer service, retail or a supervisory role.
- Experience in areas such as cash handling, opening/closing procedures, inventory, and day-to-day store operations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a professional, helpful, and approachable manner.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
- Secondary school diploma required; post-secondary education or training in Customer Service, Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Ability to support and supervise staff, take initiative, and step into a leadership role when the Store Manager is absent.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems; experience with computerized inventory or database systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements, WHMIS, and tobacco retail compliance is beneficial, with training provided as required.
- Valid driver’s licence and legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Experience working within a First Nations community or enterprise environment is an asset, along with cultural awareness and a respectful, community-minded approach.
Responsibilities Include:
- Play an important leadership role in supporting daily operations, leading a team, and helping drive the success and growth of the business.
- Support the other managers with the day-to-day operations of the store, including opening and closing, staffing, cash handling, POS operations, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to Squamish Nation members, customers, and the public while supporting a welcoming and professional store environment.
- Support inventory management, purchasing, pricing, merchandising, and product receiving to ensure the store is well-stocked and operating efficiently.
- Hire, lead, coach, and support retail staff; coordinate schedules, provide training and maintain high standards of customer service, safety, and performance.
- Help ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, tobacco regulations, store policies, and other applicable standards.
- Assist with operational reporting, reconciliations, administrative tasks, and other initiatives that support the overall success of the business.
- Daily financial control, including cash reconciliation, bank deposits, and reporting to Finance.
- Store Manager will also mentor and assist in the development of junior managers, encouraging growth and managing their overall performance.
