The Perfect Candidate: 

This is a hands-on, operational role in a busy industrial environment. The successful candidate is reliable, practical, and comfortable performing routine cleaning, minor repairs, and general maintenance tasks, without the need for constant supervision.

  • 1–3 years of experience in maintenance, janitorial, facilities or building services roles.
  • No formal education required; relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience working in industrial, warehouse, or shop environments is an asset.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks safely.
  • Comfortable using basic tools and cleaning equipment.
  • Strong reliability and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow routine schedules.
  • Strong communication, organization and attention to detail skills.
  • Respectful of shared spaces and safety requirements.

Responsibilities Include: 

The Facilities & Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, cleanliness, and basic maintenance of all facilities, including offices, shop areas, washrooms, common spaces, and outdoor areas. This role ensures that facilities are safe, functional, clean, and well-maintained to support daily operations and meet health and safety requirements.

  • Perform minor maintenance tasks such as basic repairs, adjustments, and replacements (e.g., light bulbs, fixtures, doors, hardware).
  • Assist with basic plumbing, painting, and general upkeep tasks within skill level.
  • Identify maintenance issues and report items requiring specialized repair or external contractors.
  • Perform daily cleaning of offices, washrooms, common areas, and shop spaces.
  • Empty garbage and recycling, restock supplies, and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure floors, surfaces, and high-traffic areas are kept clean and safe.
  • Assist with setup and teardown of workspaces, meeting rooms, or temporary installations.
  • Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal, yard cleanup, or basic exterior maintenance as required.
  • Follow all health, safety, and PPE requirements applicable to shop and industrial environments.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or facility concerns promptly.
  • Coordinate with operations and shop leadership regarding priorities and urgent needs.
  • Maintain an organized list of recurring tasks and maintenance activities.
  • Support external service providers when specialized maintenance or inspections are required.
