We have an opening for a Quality Inspector at a new rail services shop that is opening in Squamish this month. The Perfect Candidate: 

This role operates in a fast-paced, delivery-driven rail environment where timelines are tight and coordination is critical. The successful candidate is comfortable working close to production, resolving issues in real time, and improving methods, without compromising safety, quality, or compliance.

  • 3–7 years of experience in quality inspection or quality control roles in manufacturing, rail, or industrial environments.
  • Diploma or certificate in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Experience with dimensional inspection and use of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Familiarity with fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, or coating inspection is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented and objective.
  • Enforce quality requirements professionally and consistently.
  • Communicates clearly with shop and project teams.
  • Remains calm and firm under schedule pressure.
  • Takes ownership of quality outcomes.

Responsibilities Include: 

As a Quality Inspector (Quality Control), you will inspect materials, components, assemblies, and completed work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures, and applicable standards. You will play a key role in maintaining product integrity across fabrication, refurbishment, and maintenance activities.

  • ​Perform in-process and final inspections of fabrication, assembly, coating, and maintenance work.
  • Inspect incoming materials and components against technical and purchase order requirements.
  • Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Document inspection results, non-conformities, and corrective actions clearly and accurately.
  • Support audits, client inspections, and certification activities as required.
  • Verify that approved procedures and work instructions are followed.
  • Work with shop personnel and project teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with shop personnel to support production sequencing.
