Currently seeking skilled Piano Instructors who are passionate about inspiring students of all ages and abilities. .  The ideal candidates bring professionalism, dedication, and a love for teaching, helping students build confidence, technique, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Seeking music teachers to commence work in the 2025-2026 teaching season (beginning January 2026), with possibility of opportunities through July and August and continued opportunities into the 2026-2027 teaching season.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Based in Squamish, BC.
  • 5-7 hours per day, 2-5 days per week, dependent on skills and availability.
  • Wage starting at $31-$35 up to $42 per hour based on experience and tenure.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Demonstrate proficiency on their instrument and an extensive knowledge of applied music theory, music history, and technique (Bachelor of Music degree, ARCT through RCM, or a similar accreditation is an asset but not required).
  • Our students have a variety of interests and goals, so being a flexible and adaptable teacher is essential.
  • Have experience teaching private music lessons to a variety of ages and levels.
  • Have advanced technical knowledge of their instrument.
  • Have experience teaching and/or performing a variety of genres.
  • Have experience teaching students of a wide range of ages and abilities.
  • Experience preparing students for RCM exams and festivals is an asset.
  • Have strong communication skills.
  • Enjoy collaborating with other professionals.
  • Value community and personal connection.

Responsibilities Include: 

Music instructors at SAM are responsible for designing and implementing a teaching program that provides each student with skills, direction and encouragement. Instructors are also responsible for preparing students for appropriate performance opportunities such as studio recitals, festivals, community events and RCM exams. We are seeking professionals interested in being an active part of our musical community.
