PearlSpace, an amazing non-profit organization,  has a opening for a  Full Cycle Bookkeeper to support their finance department.  The position is likely around 24-32 hours per week with some fluctuation.   Offering a flexible schedule with an incredibly caring and  impactful community-centred organization and a starting wage in the range of $35/hour plus excellent benefits.

About the Role, Wage, Perks and Benefits:

  • Starting immediately in Squamish, BC.
  • Office hours are typically between Monday to Friday *this is an in-person position.
  • Expected to be in the range of 32 hours per week to start and then 24-32 hour per week once everything is caught up.
  • Starting wage in the range of $35/hour plus three weeks paid vacation .

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Experience  Full Cycle Bookkeeping including monthly reconciliations and reporting.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in Payroll, A/P and A/R.
  • Must have working knowledge of Sage 50 and Sage Intact ideally
  • Detail-oriented, fast learner, and can follow instructions accurately.
  • Extremely effective problem solver who will take ownership of the finances for the organization.
  • Experience in non-profit or retail accounting is a strong asset.
  • Very computer savvy – experience with installation of transition of new accounting systems is very beneficial.
  • Extremely patient, empathetic and supportive toward a diverse group of employees.
  • Shared core values including  feminism, belonging, empowerment, transparency, resilience and safety.
  • Pro-active worker who has great time-management skills.
  • Experience in paper filing and data entry.
  • Criminal Record Check and Confidentiality Agreement required.
  • Friendly, hard-working and happy to pitch in where needed.
  • Ideally will be able to start immediately and assist with preparations for the internal audit (Jun22-24).

 

Responsibilities Include:   

  • Accounts Payable: entering receipts, reconciling vendor statements, navigating GST/PST.
  • Accounts Receivable: posting and sending invoices, processing payments, issuing receipts, recording sales.
  • Payroll Processing: Biweekly entry of hours and balancing of payroll.
  • Monthly Reconciliations and Government Submissions
  • Preparing monthly reporting of budget vs actuals for leadership
  • Oversee the transition from Sage 50 to Sage Intacct and the modernization of systems.
  • Entries and reports in Sage and as well as working with manual paper records.
  • Implementation of a new Paymate payroll system.
  • Creation of procedures and manuals reflecting best practises.
  • Additional general bookkeeping duties as needed.
