Senior Leadership position with a well-respected non- profit organization.

Seeking a visionary leader who will help steer this deeply ingrained community organization towards continued success.  As the Executive Director of this non-profit organization, you will oversee daily operations, service delivery and community economic development initiatives while reporting to the Board of Directors.   Full-time, year-round position with excellent benefits and a salary starting in the range of $95,000-$115,000.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

  • Full-time, year-round based in Squamish and working through-out the Sea to Sky.
  • Schedule is roughly 35hrs during the week – mostly Monday to Friday with some evening and weekend meetings and events.
  • Involves partially working from home and visiting client at their places of business.
  • Full comprehensive health benefits and matching 5% RRSP contribution after successful 3-month probationary period.
  • Salary in the range of $95,000 – $115,000 per year will be based on the level of experience, knowledge and work ethic of the applicant.

The Perfect Candidate: 

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and possess a combination of strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, political acumen.

  •  At least 8-10 years of hands-on business leadership experience which could include small business ownership,  business counselling and/or senior management positions.
  • Post-secondary degree or masters in business, finance, or a relevant equivalent education or professional designation.
  • Strong leadership, excellent communication (written and oral) and intuitive problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with strategic planning, business development, commercial financing, cash flow management and understands loan fund management.
  • Understands board governance and has prior board and/or non-profit leadership experience.
  • Administratively strong,  very detailed and highly organized with strong computer systems and file management capabilities.
  • Scheduling flexibility with the ability to work from Lions Bay to Birkin, including the communities of Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton
  • Experience in facilitating workshops and webinars beneficial.
  • Personable, outgoing and able to connect with diverse individuals.  Has built or is able to build strong relationships throughout the community.
  • Natural mentor and coach—patient, curious, and a good listener.

Responsibilities Include: 

Oversees daily operations, service delivery, finances, loan fund management, program delivery and community economic development initiatives while reporting to the Board of Directors.

  • Lead the development and execution of the strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
  • Support the Board’s governance and fiduciary functions through effective communication, reporting, and strategic planning.
  • Identify and cultivate new revenue streams, partnerships, and growth opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary public representative of the organization and advocate for community economic development across the Sea to Sky region.
  • Ensure high-quality programs that advance entrepreneurship and strengthen local communities.
  • Manage financial operations, budgets, and performance reporting to ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance and implement loss mitigation strategies.
  • Provide strong leadership to staff, overseeing recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
  • Foster a positive, entrepreneurial, and inclusive culture that supports excellence and innovation.
  • Supervise and support the team while continually studying project successes and failures to improve best practices and target markets for lending.
  • Support clients at every stage, including providing expert guidance in building a business from the ground up or growing an established business.
