An entry-level position of Customer Service Representative is open  at community-focused business in the beautiful and scenic territory of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) just south of Squamish, BC.  This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in retail and customer service while contributing to a business with strong community roots and purpose.  Offering an excellent starting wage up to $27/hr plus full time, year round hours and other benefits.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Prior related experience is very beneficial but not required.  Training is provided.
  • Friendly, helpful and polite customer service style and an approachable manner.
  • Fluent in English and good communication skills.
  • Flexible regarding schedule and happy to work a mix of days, evenings and weekends (Monday to Friday daytime only schedules are not available).
  • Must provide a valid Criminal Records Check.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License is an asset. Class 7N may be considered.
  • Experience working within a First Nations community or enterprise environment is an asset, along with cultural awareness and a respectful, community-minded approach.

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Responsible for running the retail store, including taking customer payments and providing excellent service.
  • Operates POS system, and credit card terminal.
  • Selling store merchandise, fuel, coffee and food items.
  • Stays calm and courteous when dealing with difficult clients, quoting policy, and calling for supervisor assistance as required.
  • Answers phone in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Going the extra mile to solve customer problems.
  • Presenting a consistently professional image of Nch’ḵaỷ in all interactions and communications.
  • Keeps the store tidy and presentable, restocking shelves, emptying rubbish bins and other light cleaning duties as required.
  • Performs other customer service tasks as required by Team-leader/Assistant Team-leader/s or Management.
