Mamquam River Access Society (MRAS) is seeking a motivated and community-minded Executive Director / General Manager to lead the organization’s operations and help shape its future direction. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the outdoors and wants to play an active role in supporting campground operations, outdoor recreation, and whitewater access throughout the Mamquam River watershed. You’ll work closely with the Board of Directors, Campground Manager, volunteers, and community partners while helping ensure the continued success and growth of this unique local organization.
Offering $45,000 annually for a permanent, part time position with a flexible schedule, work-from-home opportunities, and a gas card.

The Perfect Candidate:
- Previous management, business or administrative experience, with strong organizational and leadership skills
- A motivated self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently
- Trustworthy, dependable and committed, with strong integrity and a passion for the organization’s mission
- Experience working with a non-profit organization is beneficial
- Hands-on maintenance or operational experience is essential
- A strong connection to outdoor recreation and the Squamish community is essential
- Experience or involvement in whitewater recreation is an asset
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle to travel to the job site as required
Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing and working closely with the Campground Manager to support effective day-to-day campground operations
- Managing the organization’s fiscal responsibilities and ensuring transparent administration of programs
- Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Board of Directors on organizational priorities and future plans
- Mentoring Canada Summer Jobs students and hosting young international volunteers
- Acting as a public voice for whitewater access throughout the Mamquam River watershed and beyond

Mamquam River Access Society (MRAS) is a small non-profit registered charity in Squamish that operates the four-season Mamquam River campground and manages paddle sport access on the river. MRAS is committed to supporting campground operations while advocating for and maintaining access to the Mamquam River and surrounding watershed.
