Sustainable building solutions

Seeking a CAD Technician to be the hub of TAG Panel’s pre-construction design and collaboration phase of their projects.  As the Technician, you will work hand in hand with project managers, architects, engineers, and framers to produce a master 3D model which will be the platform for constructing framing TAG’s framing packages.

  • Salary range from $60,000 to $80,000, based on experience.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Educational Background: Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Product/Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong command of Excel and Bluebeam.
  • Specialized Software: CADworks experience preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate from scratch.

Skills & Competencies

  • Plan interpretation: Advanced ability to read and interpret structural and architectural plans.
  • Construction Logic: Strong understanding of Timber Light Framing construction.
  • Quality Assurance: Self-motivated for meticulous self-review and error-checking of your own models.
  • Project Management: Ability to multitask across various projects in different design or fabrication phases.
  • Deadline Driven: Strong time-management skills to ensure all manufacturing milestones are met.
  • Coordination & Communication: Highly organized with excellent communication skills for liaising with third-party consultants and stakeholders.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional focus on precision design.
  • Coninuous Improvement: Open to feedback and proactive in optimizing workflows for maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • 3D Modeling: Develop high-fidelity 3D models of panelized systems and structural components based on architectural and structural IFC files.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Identify and resolve geometric clashes or structural inconsistencies during the pre-construction modeling phase.
  • Shop Drawings (2D): Generate accurate fabrication drawings, detailed cutting lists, and assembly instructions for the production plant.
  • Installation Drawings (2D): Produce precise installation drawings to coordinate foundations and prefabricated panel assembly.
  • Logistics & Loading (3D): Design efficient 3D trailer loading plans, accounting for transport constraints and site-specific offloading requirements.
  • Digital Library Management: Maintain and optimize the library of standard and parametric components.
  • Internal Coordination: Partner closely with Project Managers and Factory Leads to ensure a seamless “Design-to-Delivery” workflow.
