Our client is an established litigation firm that specializes in insurance defence and personal injury law, but also deals with employment, family, construction and human rights law files.  They have recently announced an exciting new office opening in Squamish and are currently looking for an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join their fun and professional team.  Ideally suited for a friendly professional with experience working in a similar administration role in the legal field.

About the Role: 

  • This is a full time, year round position based in Squamish.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Competitive salary, $40,000 – $45,000 based on experience.
  • Three weeks paid vacation.

  • Initial training and first 6-8 weeks will be at the main North Vancouver location.

The Perfect Candidate:

  • Supports their paralegal and lawyer(s) in serving the interests of our clients.
  • Excellent computer skills, Word, Outlook, Adobe, PC Law.
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal.
  •  Capable of multi-tasking and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong time management, organizational and planning skills.
  • Thinks critically, takes the initiative, and works independently.
  • Has an exacting attention to detail and possesses an inherent interest in the legal industry.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining the firm’s established filing systems (BF’s, correspondences, reports, records, billings).
  • Drafting documents and preparing correspondences.
  • Assisting with preparing for mediation and/or trial, including case settlements.
  • Managing communications with clients, investigators, medical professionals and financial experts.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of legal procedures
    and documentation.
  • Opening, handling, and closing files inclusive of invoicing vendors and experts.
